Below are areas in which York Lions help others.

Locally and Nationally

 

Here is a list of some of the Organisations we have recently supported financially between May and December 2011:

£760 - Hearing dogs for the Deaf                 - raised from a sponsored Dog walk
£760 - S.A.S.H. (Safe and Sound Homes)   - raised from a sponsored Dog walk
£150 - CTC (UK's National Cyclists not-for-proift Organisation)
                                                               - Bike auction at the Knavesmire Race course, York
£100 - Dyslexia Action
£35   - to sponsor York High School in Cornlands Road, York 
£200 - for "Door 84" Community Youth club, Lowther Street, York
£250 - Donation to Kids Club at York University
£200 - Support & Recovery Worker (Comnunity Care Adult Services) for a lady needing a cooker
£250 - Sponsorship for York Hospital Radio
£150 - Chapelfields "Out-Of-School" club in York
£120 - City of York Athletics Club
£300 - pledged to 2 young men cycling 20,000 miles to raise funds for WaterAid
£200 - The Samaritans
£50   - Donation towards uniform for a York Choir
£150 - Donation to Group Tubakunde in Rwanda
£100 - Donation to MD appeal for Life Skills
£150 - Donation for young man at 'Early Intervention'
£72   - Raffle money raised in presentation evening for Yorkshire Air Ambulance
£100 - Towards a minibus for 1st Holgate Scouts
£100 - Donation to 'Assertive Outreach' for Christmas cards/hampers.
£600 - Vegetable hampers for 30 Vulnerable York families
£175 - To man going from Peasholme Centre, into own acc. for a cooker
£  70 - Prize money for Peace Poster winners
£100 - Donation to Scout group towards minibus
