Welcome to the York Lions website

York Lions Club serves its local community in many different ways. All sorts of people and organisations turn to us for help and we aim to respond quickly and effectively. This is made possible through the tireless efforts of our members and the generosity of the public - supporting and subscribing to our work. The Club is a Charitable Trust Fund and all monies raised are used for our charitable works.

WE SERVE

Although we operate at a local level we aim to give practical help to the community across a very wide range of areas. These include:

·        Helping families in distress

·        Supporting those suffering from disability

·      Supporting life skills and drug awareness

·        Providing Hospital equipment

·       Pupil mentorship

·         Helping young or old

WE GAIN

As well as the fulfilment of helping those in most need our members enjoy a bond of true fellowship. The Club organises regular self- funded social events for its members. In addition the International nature of Lions provides many opportunities for contact between member Clubs from all over the world.

WORLDWIDE

Whilst our priorities are local the Association is truly International (without any religious or political affiliations whatsoever) and strives to provide immediate assistance in times of disaster as well as an ongoing commitment to Eye Health Camps and Water Aid for the Third World.

22 Lions from the Mülheim-Hellweg Rhur Club recently enjoyed a marvellous weekend with their York Lion friends in York.

They also presented a very generous £2000 donation to boost the York Evening Press Guardian Angels Charity.
